Canadian Boreal Forest Sketchbook pages 14-29
I wanted to look more closely at some specific animals that roam the boreal in Canada so I did just that. I tried to pick a range of animals based on species, size and behaviours but ultimately they are all animals that I find particularly interesting; from doing this I learnt a lot about each animal’s routines, adaptions and functions. I was fascinated to find out that a lot of behaviours associated with some of these animals are either not true or over exaggerated, for example wolves have never been known to attack humans and bears will only do so if they feel attacked. While not the most original idea, using the behaviours of animals and the relationships between them as part of a game could work well; whether that’s by utilising anthropomorphic animals with appropriate behaviours or in a more abstract sense.
